EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
She was born on March 20th, 1994, in Houston, Texas, to Remigio Bonzon and Dana Walker. R’Bonney Gabriel’s father is Filipino, while her mother is American. He immigrated to Washington from Manila when he was twenty-five years old. He earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California, and Gabriel’s mother comes from Beaumont.
Gabriel earned her graduate degree from the University of North Texas. In addition, she earned her bachelor’s degree in fashion and apparel design. She is shaping her path to becoming an eco-friendly fashion designer and has gained recognition in this field. She is also associated with Magpies & Peacocks and runs her sewing classes.
PAGEANTRY
Gabriel’s journey to the top has been truly unique. From being a humble designer from Houston to becoming the face of Texas, it’s been inspiring. It all began with her participation in Miss Kemah USA in 2020. She earned the position of one of the top five finalists in the competition.
The following year, R Bonney Gabriel took part in Miss Texas USA 2021, where she got the first runner-up position. However, it was 2022 that was destined to bring her worldwide success. She broke the records and proceeded to win the title of Miss Texas USA 2022, succeeding Victoria Hinojosa, the previous title holder. With this, Gabriel became the first Asian-American to earn the title.
MISS USA 2022 COMPETITION
With the title of Miss Texas 2022, Gabriel earned the right and recognition to represent her state. She made the Best State Costume Award accolade and moved forward to other rounds, such as the swimsuit and evening gown sect, which aided her in entering the top 5 participants.
Gabriel was only twenty-eight when she won the title and was crowned Miss USA.
ADVOCACY AND ISSUES OR CRITICISM
In a video shared publicly, O’Keefe said that Gabriel allegedly flew to Mexico on United Airlines and sponsored Miss USA and Miss Texas USA. United Airlines was a sponsor of both pageants.
Also, according to a post published in The New York Post, Miss Montana raised questions about a photo of Crystle Stewart, President of the Miss USA Organization, with R Bonney Gabriel.
But in Gabriel’s words, the picture was taken out of context, but unfortunately, it appeared that it happened before she won the title, whereas it was her official Miss USA headshot shoot after winning.
PERSONAL LIFE
Gabriel, who’s more famous by the name of Bonney in her private circle, is presently unmarried, and as rumours have it, she is still single. She has no interest in dating or any relationship, as she is wholly committed to her modelling career.
After being crowned Miss USA 2022, her popularity reached the sky across several social media platforms. She bagged over 10K followers a few hours after the news broke out. And she was signed by Neal Hamil Agency right after. The supermodel shares incredible photos on her Instagram handle. Right now, she has more than 31K followers, while she follows around 1.3K Instagram users.
For two years, from October 2011 to August 2013, R Bonney Gabriel worked for David Peck USA as an assistant producer.
