Andrea Meza, the full name Alma Andrea Meza Carmona, is known for winning the title of 69th Miss Universe for 2020. She was born in Chihuahua City, Mexico, to a family of Chinese-Mexican heritage.
Her birth date is August 13th, 1994, which means her zodiac sign is Leo. She is the eldest of 3 girls. Her younger sisters’ names are Karen Meza and Mariana Meza.
Her father’s name is Santiago Meza, and her mother’s name is Alma Carmona Jacquez.
As a child was a bright student and aspired to become a model.
Meza graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in software engineering from the Autonomous University of Chihuahua in 2017.
Upon graduation, she started working for a software firm in her home country of Mexico while simultaneously beginning her modelling career.
Pageantry
Meza entered her career in beauty pageantry in 2016 when she was selected to represent her hometown of Chihuahua for Miss World Mexico.
During that competition on October 14th, 2016, she was crowned Miss World Mexico 2017.
As a result, she went on to represent Mexico at Miss World America 2017 in Sanya, China. She was crowned 1st runner-up, just after India’s Manushi Chhillar. Notably, Andrea Meza won the sports competition during the event.
In 2020, Andrea Meza participated in Mexicana Universal Chihuahua 2020, where she achieved the highest prize. She represented Chihuahua at Mexicana Universal 2020, where she beat 29 other contestants.
These victories cleared the way for her ultimate win on the global level.
Miss Universe 2020
In 2020, the Miss Universe Pageant was postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Therefore, Meza earned the prestigious title on May 16th, 2021, at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
She is the third Mexican woman to hold the Miss Universe title and the first Mexican winner in 10 years. She beat 73 other women in the famous worldwide beauty contest.
She was 26 years old when the 2019 winner, South Africa’s Zozibini Tunzi, gracefully passed on the crown.
Post-Miss Universe
Right now in her career, she hosts an informational news TV show called En Casa Con Telemundo on the Telemundo Channel. She also works as a host on a pop culture website called Latinx Now!

During her reign as Miss Universe, she worked with the Municipal Institute for Women in her home country of Mexico.
She also says she practices a vegan lifestyle to demonstrate her commitment to the “well-being of the world and animals.” Indeed, she is the world’s first vegan Miss Universe. In addition, she sometimes shares vegan recipes on her Instagram feed, promoting this cause.
Andrea Meza also uses her social media platforms to raise awareness for other causes. For example, she recently posted on Facebook. in favour of an organization called Smile Train. Smile Train is a group that helps children with clefts access treatment.
